Felixstowe and the Sea

During the weekend of 23rd to 25th February, thirty-one Esperantists gathered to take part in the third Esperanto Weekend at Felixstowe Ferry. The theme this year was defence, against both invaders and the sea. Felixstowe has a wealth of defences, and two prepared walks allowed participants to see for themselves the importance attached over the centuries to the defence of the town.

The Weekend was made up of two courses: that for beginners was lead by Roy Threadgold, whilst the other, for more expert Esperantists, was led by Anna Lowenstein from Italy. Everybody seemingly enjoyed the courses and also the excellent food and entertainment. During the weekend there was a special addition to one of the meals to celebrate the birthday of Lawrence Mee, but we will not mention the birthday we were celebrating!
