  8. We're delighted to announce that our latest publishing project is La plej eleganta giganto de la urbo, a translation by Ian Carter and Edmund Grimley Evans of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's The Smartest Giant in Town into Esperanto! We had hoped to launch the book at our conference in April. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has led to our cancelling the conference and to delays in the book reaching us. We can't currently be sure of the exact delivery date but we fulfill our pre-orders as soon as we take receipt of the stock. The book costs only £5. If you're from the UK, please note that you can include another 1.8kg of books in the package before the postage bracket rises (currently £3.10 for up to 2kg), so you might wish to take advantage by ordering some more books, which we'll despatch alongside it.

  16. "Bouquet for Heba - absolutely unawesome poems" in Esperanto. Written by Timothy Brian Carr (also known as Tim Carr).

History and politics, literature and music, travel and football - all intertwine poetically in this third collection by the English poet.

  17. "Aspirations - a chronicle of an unannounced murder" in Esperanto. Written by Lode Van de Velde.

A murder takes place. Consequences ripple out in all directions, influencing the surroundings. No one remains untouched by the event. This is the chronicle of an unannounced murder.

Aspiroj isn't a classical detective novel where you seek out the murderer, but a psychological mosaic-novel which examines the effects on the environment. An attentive reader will, nevertheless, find the solution.

Reviewer Valentin Melnikov warns: Unfortunately the book hasn't been very well proof-read. Typos only stand out with close inspection but - more importantly - in several places incorrect names are mentioned, and here and there during dialogues the replies are misformatted, so it's difficult to understand, who is saying what.

  19. WOW Just discovered in Sheffield there's a street called Esperanto Place !

      Alexander Burley

      WOW really? Where is it?

  20. Hello I am new on this forum! I live in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and am interested in learning Esperanto and hopefully soon will be obtaining my Complete Esperanto (Teach Yourself) product from the EAB Shop!
  21. Pri la aldonaj demandoj - 1 What do you think is unique about Esperanto when compared to other languages? 2 Do you consider Esperanto as part of your identity? (In what sense) Mi sentas amikecon al Esperanto kiu havas multajn komunajn rilatojn kun mia aliro al la mondo.
  22. Saluton Frank, Jen miaj respondoj - 1. What is your first language? (i.e. ‘native’ language, mother tongue - if it is a language other than Esperanto) Anglalingvo 2. What other languages do you speak? Franca, germana, gaela (irlanda). 3. When did you learn Esperanto? Why did you learn Esperanto? (this can be any reason) Mi ŝatis ideojn pri unueco de la homaro 5. When do you use Esperanto? (e.g. in everyday situations, or on special occasions only?) 6. How fluent are you in Esperanto? (as fluent as in your first language?) Ne tiel mia unua lingvo. Tamen mi povas kompreni tre bone por legi kaj aŭskulti sen vortaro. 7. What role can Esperanto play in today’s world? (e.g. as an international language, or as a 'neutral' language) Esperanto povas esti amata lingvo kiun oni uzas por ĝuo kaj por renkonti homojn de aliaj landoj en neŭtrala amika metodo. 8. What do you think of the claim that the only real international language is English, instead of Esperanto?
  23. Oni povas ĉiam krei propran klavar-aranĝon per Ukelele-programeto: → The Unicode Keyboard Layout Editor for the macOS Do, mi mem kreis per ĝi mian ÅUIOGV-klavaron. P.S. — Bonvolu noti, ke mi uzas la komon ( , ) kiel morta klavo por tajpi la ĉapelitajn literojn de Esperanto: , + q → ĉ , + ö → ĝ , + h → ĥ , + ä → ĵ , + w → ŝ , + y → ŭ
