EAB Event 2014-03-26 to 28

Three-day languages event in Liverpool

Make a note in your diaries to explore Esperanto in Liverpool between 26 and 28 March 2014

The University of Liverpool will host the John Buchanan Masterclass three-day event comprising seminars in linguistics, literature and the language itself. Professor Wim Jansen, from the University of Amsterdam, will lead the linguistics seminars, and Paul Gubbins will lead the literature strands.

The event is structured so that participants will be able to switch between the linguistics and literature strands, which will be conducted in English to target Liverpool university students and others wanting to take their first steps in discovering Esperanto language and culture.

The Esperanto seminar will suit those learning via the internet or postal courses who wish to hear and speak the language with others at their level.

The event is supported by the John Buchanan bequest* and costs will be kept to a minimum. The participant fee of £40 for non-students and £20 for students covers registration and a welcome pack, full participation in the 3-day course, all course materials, buffet lunches, and refreshments morning and afternoon. Participants should find their own accommodation, and there are a number of very reasonably priced hotels and B&Bs close to the city centre.
