When do you meet and do you use Zoom or some other system? I have been using Duolingo for about 4 weeks now so I’m very much a new learner? Are there groups in Kent’s?

Hello Ruth, there are a lot of online group meetings. Their number and frequency have really increased since lock-down started back in March. You say that you've done Duolingo for about 4weeks so I'm guessing you are looking more at lessons than at conversation groups. The best place to start is probably here https://northlondonesperanto.com/online-esperanto-classes/

The north-London Esperanto group offers weekly online Esperanto classes at all levels, from beginners (A1) to advanced (C1) levels. You can choose from different days of the week, too. There's lots more detail on their page. Classes are organised via Zoom.

For more conversationally-oriented meetings, you can have a look at the member map https://esperanto.org.uk/membermap/ and you'll find the most active groups. Most of them meet on Zoom. There are active groups in Reading, Nottingham, Skipton, Leeds, Manchester, Scotland, Wales and more. The first two-three in this list meet pretty regularly. The Nottingham one now dedicates some of its meetings to new learners while the Reading group provides the 'conversation' level of the north-London Esperanto group sessions. Get in touch with either of them. They are very welcoming groups.

There are no formally organised groups in Kent as far as I'm aware but there seems to be quite a few people from Kent on the website. https://esperanto.org.uk/membermap/ Perhaps one group could be started after the kovid19 situation eases!
