Intermediate Exam

£17.50
Our mid-level exam, sandwiched between our Elementary and Advanced exams. This is an exam for people who are comfortable using Esperanto and who have a good understanding of its grammar.  The exam consists of translating two passages from Esperanto into English, summarising one passage in Esperanto, translating one passage from English into Esperanto and writing an essay of between 400 and 500 words on a choice of subjects.
Since it's possible to re-take the exam only once, we recommend first checking the specimen paper before you sign up. Please note that we only accept exams from people who are resident in the UK or British people living overseas.
General rules
Candidates for all the exams may work at home, but the work must be unaided and a form must be signed to this effect. Use of dictionaries and other text books is allowed. Candidates for the Intermediate exams must complete and return the papers within a month. The examiners' decision is final. In case of failure (to submit answers or to achieve the pass mark), there is no refund of the original fee, but the candidate may take one re-sit (attempting a different question paper).
